To accomplish its mission, SEV constantly evaluates its own operations and restructures accordingly its activities to reflect current standards, flexibility and efficiency. Today, SEV has four primary bodies:
Governance
The General Assembly of Members is the supreme body of SEV, in which all its members - enterprises and associations - are represented. Each representative has the right of one vote. The General Assembly elects the Board of Directors. It consists of 20 representatives, elected for two years, responsible for the management and strategy of SEV. The President selects among the Board of Directors a small Executive Committee, over which he presides and which assists him in monitoring, guiding and managing SEV.
The General Council, the main advisory body, convenes once a month to monitor developments of relevance to SEV and express views and opinions on issues of current interest to business. It consists of 90 members who are also elected for two years from the General Assembly. In the General Council sessions, all the Presidents of sectoral and regional organisations who are SEV members, participate ex officio, as well as former Presidents and members of its Board of Directors.
The Secretariat
The Secretariat is supervised by the Director General and consists of the permanent personnel who include co-ordinators, managers, analysts, secretaries and support staff. It is structured in three main units:

The Production Unit focusing on research and analysis for the preparation, substantiation and presentation of SEV´s position papers.

The Networking Unit supporting communication and dialogue between SEV and its main interlocutors

The Finance and Administration Unit supporting the operations of SEV and its constituent units.
SEV Brussels Office is part of the networking unit.
The Committees
Permanent and ad hoc committees are established consisting of members of the Directorate the Secretariat and SEV members’ senior staff, in order to monitor and make recommendations on strategic issues. The Committees are a powerful instrument for policy and strategy-making and they provide SEV with direct access to its members high level know–how and expertise.
The SEV permanent committees deal with issues such as education, vocational training, taxation, energy, natural environment, technology, public procurement and competition conditions.
The Representatives
SEV has representatives on numerous independent regulatory authorities, committees and the governing bodies of organisations both in Greece and abroad. These include, among others:
the Anti-Trust Committee, the Capital Market Committee, the Regulatory Authority for Energy, the Public Procurements Agency, the Monitoring Committees of the Community
Support Frameworks, the Committee monitoring investment applying for support under the Law for Development 2601/98, the Economic and Social Council of Greece (OKE), the Organization for Labor issues, Mediation and Arbitration (OMED), the Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE), the governing council of the Social Security Organisation (IKA), the Greek Manpower Employment Organisation (OAED) and the Labor Housing Organisation (OEK). In addition it sits on committees at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Environment, Planning and Public Works, the Ministry of Agriculture, etc.
In total, SEV participates in more than 100 councils and committees of public institutions. The board of SEV appoints either from the members of SEV Directorate and Secretariat or chooses among SEV members’ senior staff.
