Mr. Prime Minister,
Ladies and gentlemen,
First of all, I would like to thank my SEV colleagues, members of the broader business community, for electing me to the position of president today. From this podium, I want to thank them for the confidence they have shown in me and assure them that – in full awareness of the responsibility I have undertaken, and in a creative spirit – I will prove worthy of that confidence.
Two years ago, from this very podium, I stressed that: “Those who undertake collective responsibility must offer a realistic and optimistic vision for development and social cohesion to a people thirsting for prospects.”
Today, I want to come back to the challenge described in that statement...
