SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development invites you
to the presentation of the McKinsey & Company Study:
“Greenhouse Gas Abatement Cost Curve for Greece”

One of the main objectives of SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development is to promote dialog on critical issues of Sustainable Development based on comprehensive ideas and information. Also, one of the priority issues set is the combination of development for the reduction of greenhouse gases; an issue with huge developmental dimension.

In this framework, the Business Council proceeded to a specific study, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (YPEKA) concerning the Development of Greenhouse Gas Abatement Cost Curve for Greece. The study was implemented by the internationally recognized consulting firm McKinsey & Company, based on its own specific methodology, which has been used in over 20 countries worldwide.

The Subject of this study was to enhance the cost of the investment required in conjunction with the potential benefit for a number of alternative technical approaches in order to reduce the greenhouse gases

The Council's objective is to enrich the debate, providing an important and effective tool to evaluate policy options based on cost data and economic impacts rather than "obsessions" and sentimentalism, taking into account the dire economic situation facing the country.
