SEV plays an important role in shaping decisions and policies at a European Union level through its participation in the Union of European Industrial and Employers’ Associations (UNICE). This is the leading European organisation representing 41 central industrial and employers’ federations from 35 countries. SEV also participates on a permanent basis in the Business and Industry Advisory Council (BIAC), within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as in the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and other bodies and agencies of the European Union where policies of interest to Greek business are planned or monitored such as the Board of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions in Dublin, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP), and the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work in Bilbao, etc. SEV participates through the International Organisation of Employers in the works of t International Labor Office (ILO).
SEV capitalizes on its networking with other similar business organisations internationally partners in UNICE and other organisations to provide its members with country-specific information on economic and industrial environments and it promotes events and meetings that help members to take advantage of opportunities worldwide.
The Brussels Office: At the heart of decision making
Hellenic Federation of Enterprises is the institutional representative of Greek companies in the European Union. It has a solid and proactive presence in Brussels, where key decisions regarding the future of business are made.Through its Brussels office, SEV participates in consultations, promotes positions, proposes policies and defends the interests of Greek companies before the competent European institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Permanent Representation of Greece).At the same time, SEV provides timely and authoritative information to its members and advises them on the evolution of European legislation in their respective fields of interest.
